Welcome home

Dear editor:
This past month, Jim Cumming, the publisher of the Fort Frances Times, completed his term as president of the Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA).
As the president of the CCNA, Jim has volunteered his time to represent the interests of nearly 900 local newspapers, which tell the stories of our hometowns across Canada.
During his term, the association has been successful in lobbying for responsible changes to Ontario and Canadian policy. The results of these changes will strengthen local newspapers, and rural Canada finally will receive its rightful share of tax credits and federal advertising.
I would like to thank Jim for his ongoing commitment to rural Canada. It is through the days and months of contributed efforts of citizens like Jim that we will build healthier, stronger economies in our communities.
Congratulations on a year of unprecedented success with the Canadian Community Newspapers Association and welcome home. We are glad to have you back.
Sincerely,
Tannis Drysdale
Fort Frances, Ont.
