Dear editor:
This is “Rapid Robert” after a long hiatus. The same old guy with the plaid tam, though (unfortunately, I never change).
I had the good fortune to be invited to the fall supper that was put on by the Mennonite community this past Saturday at the Barwick Hall. I was invited as a guest by the David Rempel family of Emo, who own Rempel Furniture.
I was an invited guest, in a different atmosphere, yet I have never felt more welcome. The friendly smiles, the handshakes, and the food that followed was second-to-none.
After a prayer of thanksgiving and partaking of the fine food, there were different people who got up and read scriptures, and told us Biblical stories. The group of Mennonite young people sang hymns and certainly were entertaining.
Once again, thanks to all of you who made me feel at home and comfortable in, yes, a different environment, to a certain extent, but so enjoyable.
Respectfully yours,
“Rapid Robert”
