As your chiropractors, our primary goal is to serve you and to ensure you receive the highest quality health care possible.
It is for this reason that we protested, and sought your support in protesting, the government’s decision—after 30 years—to eliminate their partial funding of chiropractic services.
Thank you for your co-operation and assistance as we mobilized over the past five months to ensure government recognized the value patients place on chiropractic services.
More than 600,000 signatures and individual letters were sent to government calling for reversal of this decision.
Despite the disagreement of the public, patients, and chiropractors, it appears that on Dec. 1, 2004, the provincial government will eliminate OHIP funding and transfer the cost to patients and private health care insurance.
Be assured that as your chiropractors, we are here for you and will ensure you can continue to take advantage of the benefits of chiropractic care.
Our primary commitment is to you, and this downloading of costs from the public system will not affect our availability or the quality of your care.
The government withdrawal of partial support ($9.65/visit to a maximum of $150 per year) for chiropractic care means this amount now will be included in your patient fee as of Dec. 1, 2004.
If you have Extended Health Care (EHC) insurance, you may find your plan will cover the additional amount. Your employer or union will be able to provide information as to coverage available under your EHC plan.
Your health and well-being are important to us. Please don’t hesitate to speak to us or our staff if you have any questions or concerns.
Yours in health,
