On behalf of the Riverside Foundation for Health Care, I want to take this opportunity during National Volunteer Week to extend my gratitude to the many volunteers across Rainy River district who lend their support to help Riverside provide excellent health care services and programs.
The Foundation could not exist without volunteers.
We have a voluntary board of directors and special events committee who help plan and implement our annual giving program. We also depend on volunteers to assist with capital campaigns, such as the recent “Just Imagine” campaign to purchase a CT Scanner at La Verendrye Hospital.
Our volunteers provide direction, they provide support, they create awareness about our needs, they work hard, they organize events, they sell tickets, they stuff envelopes, and they ask others for their support.
They give of their time, they give of their talents, and they also give of their resources—both financial and human.
I am, at times, awestruck at how much our volunteers give to health care.
Thank you to all volunteers for demonstrating the true act of giving—giving to make our community a better place.
I applaud all volunteers. Your generous gift of time and support makes a difference. You are the vital link to making our community a better place to live. We couldn’t do it without you.
