Very disappointed

Dear Mr. Editor:
As a senior officer of the Northern Action Group, I was very disappointed in the cancellation of the all-candidates’ meeting scheduled for last Wednesday (Oct. 25). I along with others planned on attending.
I was very interested in listening to all of the candidates, hearing their views and wanting to ask some very important questions, regarding family health care, the move of our 9-1-1 services from Fort Frances, and the long-term goals of council as it relates to infrastructure and taxes.
I find the excuse on the part of those candidates that wanted to boycott this meeting as nothing short of taking away the public’s right to hear each candidate and answer any question we, the public, may have.
I feel sorry our municipal politicians could give two hoots of care for us. The seniors were excluded, the disabled were excluded, labour groups are now excluded, and we, the voting public, are excluded.
In closing, we need a council that will represent everyone in this community.
Yours truly,
Zita Miller
Secretary-Treasurer
