Very appreciative

Dear sir:
As you are aware, the Lions Millennium Park was dedicated to the people of Fort Frances on July 8 by the Hon. Robert Nault, minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Developments, local MPP and NDP leader Howard Hampton, and Mayor Glenn Witherspoon before a large crowd of citizens and visitors.
It was a festive occasion with banners, flags, hotdogs, and pop. Children were making full use of the playground while adults enjoyed the fountain and memorial walkway. All enjoyed the sunshine and ceremony.
The comments were very appreciative; the most common was, “This park is something for our town to be proud!”
The members of the Fort Frances Lions Club receive all the praise but we certainly report–through speech and press–that this project was accomplished with the help of many, many people, groups, and corporations.
We know this park is the result of donations, grants, freely-offered expertise, and skills and labour of the individuals, combined with reduced prices by various contractors. You were an important participant in this great achievement and we thank you.
Please accept this testimony of our appreciation and that of our townspeople.
Yours in Lionism,
Luke Schill,
Project co-ordinator
