I’ve been reading the tirades of our sports reporter, Emmanuel Moutsatsos, and how his reporting of district sporting events has made him disliked by many local residents.
I would like to do a poll to see how district residents really feel about him and, at the same time, raise funds for a really great cause.
I’m a member of the “Joints in Motion” training team, which raises money for the Arthritis Society. I have pledged to raise $5,200 this year—all of which remains in the local area to be used for education, research, and products to make life easier and less painful for people suffering from this crippling disease.
In return, the Arthritis Society will get corporate sponsors to pay my expenses to participate in the Hawaiian marathon in Honolulu.
The poll is simple: if you’re happy Emmanuel is leaving our area and not publicly insulting our area athletes any more, simply send a donation to me for the Arthritis Society (name and address necessary for a tax receipt of $15 or more).
I will forward these on my pledge form to the Arthritis Society and keep track of the totals to let Mr. Moutsatsos know just how happy his leaving the area makes everyone.
Send donations to Bill Michl, 344 3rd St. W., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3A7.
P.S. If no donations are received, I’ll let Emmanuel know how much he’s loved and we want him to stay.
