Anyone travelling to Winnipeg should be advised that there is a woman in her late 50s, with long brownish/grey hair and glasses, claiming to be an ex-wife, wife, or sister of my father, Dale LaBelle.
She tells people she has lost her wallet and all her money, and needs assistance to get back home to Fort Frances.
She targets people with Ontario licence plates and with Fort Frances dealership stickers on their vehicles. She has approached people at hotels, restaurants, and various shopping centres (Cabelas, Wal-Mart, etc.)
She will give them our phone number of LaBelle’s Birch Point Camp, and tell them she will pay them back when she gets home.
We are hoping to get the word out so she can be caught. If you are approached by this woman, please do not give her money, get her picture or licence plate number, and call the police.
She has been getting away with this for two years now that we know of.
