Dear editor:
I am writing to encourage everyone to start thinking about whose life you can touch.
During the Christmas season, as well as all year round, there are many “shut-ins”—people who are not able to get out and about—who really need to know they are loved and cared about.
For some, Christmas and other holidays are sad times, especially if they are alone. Do you know someone you can call, visit, or even take cookies to?
If you are feeling down, and need a loving person to talk to, you can call 1-800-NEED HIM (1-800-633-3446). Teenagers and others also could call 1-800-394-HOPE (4673) to talk to trained counsellors, or go online to thehopeline.com or Dawson McCallister.com
You even can type in your prayer requests, and watch online to see people around the world type in prayers for you. Please know God is always there for us.
As we prepare to honour the birth of His son, Jesus Christ, know you are loved by Him (God) and nothing is impossible with God.
Please reach out to others, too, as we are called to be His messengers of hope; His hands and feet.
Merry Christmas and God bless you.
