The solid rock

Dear editor,

If there ever was a time in this world when we needed something to cling to, it is now. With the corona pandemic raging around this world, we need a firm strong anchor to hold us steady. Society over the last several decades has deconstructed many beliefs we once took for granted. In a world that seems to be floating with no anchor, maybe it is time to turn back to the solid foundation which this great country was built on. To anchor our future as a nation on the word or God, the Holy Bible. The Bible has been a rock solid foundation for thousands of years. It does not change, it is not outdated, irreverent, or legalistic. It is written as a God given guide for every generation, right to the present time.

You may ask,” where if this loving God in all this pandemic.” What each one of us has to ask ourselves is, and be honest, what have we done to warrant God to intercede for us as individuals or as a nation in this time of uncertainty. When a nation accepts Christ and the word of God, it becomes blessed. If we ever forget that we are a nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under. In order to trust someone, you need to get to know them. To get to know God we must turn to the Bible, which is the revelation of God’s character to us. Romans 10: 11,12,13, “Anyone who trust in Him will never be put to shame. For there is no difference between Jew or Gentile, the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

God has created us with a free will; the will to choose how we will live our lives, in obedience to His word, or to follow the ever changing dictates of the world and society. The choice is ours and ours alone. No one should dictate to you what you should or shouldn’t believe. Ephesians 5: 1-21. Please take time to read these scriptures in the New Testament. They are a source of encouragement and also warnings to help guide us in life’s walk.

The gospel of John 3: 16-17 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”

God loves every single one of us with a father’s heart and he wants only the very best for us. At the start of this new year, take the time to read God’s word with an open heart and mind and find the many blessings he has for all who will believe.

Happy and blessed New Year.
