Dear sir:
There it goes, not to return, a perfectly legitimate, well-managed bear hunting season, cancelled by the Harris government without consultation with any of the stakeholders it may affect.
I beg you, if you enjoy hunting, not to sit on your hands and allow this to happen without making some noise. Don’t think that, because you don’t hunt bear, this does not affect you. This is just the beginning–the first domino to fall.
The Conservative government never was, and never will be, a supporter of tree-huggers. This is a test to see how far they can go to appease the anti-hunting lobby. What better place to start than spring bear hunting when most of the hunters are non-residents and have no vote.
We must let the people we elect, and pay, know that this is enough.
We had better all wake up and smell the toast before the next domino to fall is a hunting season you cherish and look forward to every year.
Signed,
Allan McTaggart
