Dear editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank some wonderful individuals and organizations who helped make my young daughters’ summer so enjoyable.
To Andrea Avis and her amazing staff of summer students. The Teddy Bear Picnic was a huge hit as was your summer reading program. You always went out of your way to make my girls welcome at the library.
The library is still one of our favourite places!
To Anne-Marie Armstrong of the Sunset Métis Nation, and Christine Badiuk and Jillian Kaun of the Outreach Program/Best Start Network Hub. The “Kids Being Kids” program was incredible! We all met some wonderful new friends and we definitely will be back next summer.
The Sunset Métis Hall should be commended for so graciously donating their hall twice a week, providing a safe and friendly environment for our children.
To Donna Lee of the Rainy River District School Board and the Northwest Catholic District School Board for co-sponsoring the “First Rider” program. My oldest daughter, who is in junior kindergarten this year, and her younger sister both loved this first opportunity to ride a school bus.
Aleata Jerry, the bus driver who drove the students from school to school, was so kind and caring, and really made the kids feel safe and excited about going to school.
The Winnie the Pooh video, the personalized name tags, goodie bags, and placemats also were a big hit.
Finally, to the Memorial Sportsplex Staff, and more specifically Rebecca Mills, my daughters’ first swimming lessons were a wonderful experience. We have signed up for another session this year and I am sure they will love it just as much.
Fort Frances really is a great place to raise children!
Thank you for making our summer so much fun.
Signed,
Kim, Hannah, and
Paige Anderson
Fort Frances, Ont.
