Tennis not ‘rad’ enough!

Dear Mike:
No skateboarders are able to do a “crooked grind” or a “front heel flip” on the tennis courts anymore. The dips, cracks, and weeds don’t lend itself to a cool game of tennis any more.
The times are a-changing as to when the net was to hit a ball over, not catch air over!
Father asks his 13-year-old son: “Do you know who Daniel Nestor is?” Son replies, “Yeah, I think so, he is Tony Hawk’s half-brother!”
I’m not trying to take anything away from skateboarding, but let both sports co-exist—not let one arbitrarily be the demise of the other. Hopefully, Tennis Canada and Ontario Tennis doesn’t lose their new multi-million dollar investment to the Rexall Tennis Centre to the X-Games anytime soon.
But as you know, everything is a demographics study now-a-days.
Definitely one tennis court is not enough, and any courts that are remaining should be in better condition than what is presently there.
I sincerely hope our town council and the local school board see that tennis is a value-added life sport.
Thank you,
Bob Tkachuk
