Dear editor:
Although I agree with Jackie Lampi-Hughes that Hallowe’en is a wonderful event for young children, and not for teenagers of 15, 16, or 17 years of age, I would point out that a curfew would greatly impact the work of a great bunch of high school teenagers wanting to make a difference in their community by collecting non-perishable goods for the “Hallowe’en for Hunger” campaign.
This year, these teenagers collected more than 2,000 items for the food bank, and had fun whilst doing it.
Rather than impose a curfew, I would suggest that town council throw their support behind these teenagers by declaring each Oct. 31 as “Hallowe’en for Hunger Day.”
