Stories sought

Dear sir:
I am writing to request the assistance of your readers in compiling a book of general stories of our “Women of the War Years.” These will be the stories of women who served with the Allied armed forces, as well as the “war brides” who married Canadian armed forces men serving overseas during World War I and World War II.
I would appreciate receiving these stories in written form or on audio tape by Sept. 30, 1998.
Pictures could be submitted as well. Please write a description of the picture, your name, and address on a paper attached to the photograph so it can be returned.
The reason for this project is to collect and preserve the memories and stories of these unique women who have been an important part of our history. Most of these women are now 70 years of age and more, and each one has a different story to tell.
The only corrections made will be spelling and grammatical errors.
Your assistance in this long overdue task would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Peggy Galloway
