Sore point

Dear editor:
I was very pleased to see the coverage and picture of the snocross races held in Fort Frances last weekend.
Congratulations to Johnny Lundon, Brennan Kilmister, and Brian Degagne on their achievements racing. However, I was very disappointed to see that Pinewood, Ont. is not considered local.
Peter Fuhrer, local Pinewood/Stratton resident, raced both Saturday and Sunday, finishing with an extremely good record considering this was his first snocross race ever. He placed fifth in the Beginner 500 class, and was doing extremely well in the finals of the Beginner 600 when he crashed.
The fact that Peter placed in an event and did better than one “local” driver, but was not mentioned, was another sore point.
“Home town” I can understand but the local part really hit home hard.
You would like to think that before writing an article, the writer would do a little more research about the participants of the event and check out where they are from.
Congratulations, Peter!
