Dear sir:
It is surprising the short memories people have.
A few short years ago, we had a Peterson government. Our economy was in such a poor condition that people voted overwhelmingly to get rid of them.
They then voted overwhelmingly and elected Bob Rae to govern. Things then got no better–and even worse.
Then came Mike Harris, who advised the government had gone hog wild in spending and cuts would be needed to help our province to survive financially. He also was elected overwhelmingly on his stand to do this.
Then organized leaders got on the bandwagon and pointed fingers. It is all right to cut on you but leave us alone as we need more. If some of these would put a little more effort into their job, there probably would not be such a demand for extra benefits, except to satisfy their own greed and benefits.
These are not a problem to any one province as the federal government made the big cuts first.
Remember every nickel promised to make things more enjoyable comes out of the individual taxpayer. And none come directly from the promising MPP running in your riding or leaders of their party.
Signed,
S. Caul
