Dear editor:
Upon reading the Wednesday, Jan. 16 edition of the Times, I was shocked to see Todd Hamilton attacking the Times for his shortcomings at the polls.
Then he attacked Ken Perry’s supporters. He claimed our writings were lies and untruths, saying we were mudslinging and had inaccuracies in our letters.
As it was, we were upset that council went ahead with this byelection; not after Todd Hamilton’s hide.
Now, I am saying to Todd, stand up and be a man and take it on the chin for your shortcomings. Don’t blame everyone else for your loss.
I’ll spell it out for you, the only person responsible is Todd Hamilton, period. I’m sure the Times’ editor gladly would have published your supporters’ letters, if any.
With all the B.S. we were throwing around, I’m sure Mr. Hamilton would have done something. The public are not a stupid people; this B.S. must have been brown sugar.
I only wrote what was the truth and the town’s people saw this.
I am sorry that Todd Hamilton is blaming his loss on everyone else. He must know that his statements in the paper now have only hurt himself even more.
Meanwhile, I am hoping town council has learned something from this misguided byelection and will implement a bylaw to correct any further predicaments.
Now that it is more than a week after the byelection, I am asking [Fort Frances clerk] Mr. Treftlin to kindly respond to my letter. I am asking for him to let us know what this byelection has cost, where the monies were spent, and to whom.
I also would say that any letter I have written are my doings, I wrote them, no one else, these are my thoughts and no outside influence was given.
If anyone wants to lash out at me, go ahead. But you have no right to attack my family or friends.
Thank you,
Ken Grynol
Fort Frances, Ont.
