I was saddened last week to learn of the decision of the Community Care Access Centre to no longer use the Red Cross Society for homemaking service.
Once again, it seems a bureaucratic decision will affect the health care of our area, “fixing something that did not need to be fixed.”
I want to thank each and every Red Cross homemaker who helped me when I was recovering from foot surgery. Joan Lakatos, the co-ordinator of the homemaker service, is a dear, sweet caring lady who does her job with her heart.
We have been so blessed in this town to have the Red Cross workers. Each and everyone who came to my house to help, did so in a truly caring, loving manner.
Thank you all for your dedication and care from the heart.
