Dear editor:
I write this letter to you with much enthusiasm and appreciation of support for an incredible cause.
On March 28, tb!s the bargain shop launched its fifth-annual Paper Egg Campaign with Easter Seals Canada. This campaign always has meant so much across our organization as the proceeds are dedicated to improving the quality of life for kids with disabilities and their families across Canada.
Nationally, in this year’s campaign we raised $152,805. And in total over the last five years, we have donated $810,804 to support crucial programs such as summer camp and the equipment necessary to create independent living opportunities for youth.
We would like to especially extend our heart-felt gratitude to all of our store customers at tb!s the bargain shop in all the communities in which we serve who, for the fifth year in a row, participated and gave so generously, creating so many opportunities for Easter Seals kids that wouldn’t otherwise exist.
Thank you for making our bake sale a huge success, either by donating baked goods, volunteering your time, or purchasing items.
As a result of all our collective efforts, we will be sending more kids to camp this year to enjoy personal growth and challenges, make new friends, and partake in the fun and laughter that this experience has offered thousands of kids over the years.
Marianna Figueiredo, the 12-year-old 2011 Provincial Ambassador for Easter Seals Ontario, sums it up best when she asks us all to “See beyond the disability. Show the world we can do anything.”
It is a privilege to take part in such a rewarding campaign with such visible results. We look forward to another successful and ground-breaking campaign in 2012!
Best regards,
