Dear editor:
Last week I noticed a large number of individuals at the field behind the high school “hastening” the snow to melt to free it up for soccer.
My agenda? The “fast eroding” quarter-mile track surrounding the football field.
The track has seen no upkeep and is really showing it.
I propose that a similar large group of individuals could tidy up and groom that track.
Now, folks, if we can’t free ourselves up to get new assets here in town, let’s pay the greatly reduced amount to maintain the old ones.
I have used this track since the 1970s and I believe it has served us well.
I believe the board of education should refurbish the track.
