Privatization by stealth

In the Jan. 5th issue of the Thunder Bay Chronicle Journal, Liberal MPP Michael Gravelle was quoted as follows: “A CT scanner in Thunder Bay is classified as a non-profit facility, but it will be allowed to perform some for-profit service.”
Somewhat as being partially a virgin, I assume.
In the Jan. 4th Chronicle Journal, Gravelle (and the McGuinty Liberal government) indicated they are committed to turning private clinics into public clinics.
“Our government has successfully worked with these people (operating the Thunder Bay private clinic) into a not-for-profit operation,” said Gravelle.
Also in the Jan. 4th edition, the Chronicle Journal reported a publicly-funded, privately-owned (for-profit) CT scanner is set to open on Cumberland Street at the end of January.
The newspaper also said [Liberal MP Michael] Gravelle does not know if the new publicly-funded, privately-owned (for-profit) clinic will work in connection with the regional hospital.
The Jan. 4th headline read, “Government will not accept private clinics, Gravelle says.”
This headline belies the facts. As listed above, this is an instance of more privatization by stealth, as practised by the Liberal government of Ontario,
with full co-operation from our Liberal MP who looks the other way when federal health laws are broken by the province.
