Dear editor:
Re: All the hub-bub about getting a candidate to fill the vacancy left by a former council member’s resignation.
I wonder why you could not use good common sense and take the next-highest candidate from the last election, which I understand would be Mr. Perry.
Do you have some grudge against this man? He ran in good faith and received many votes from people who believed in him.
You are not using good judgment to spend all the money needed to have another election. Also the manner in which you decided to have it is not very good, either.
Please take another look at the situation, and go ahead and take the candidate who should be the one to be taking his proper place as a council member, thus having it done in a way that is satisfactory to everyone concerned.
