Picture found

Dear sir:
Reading Harry Vandetti’s column in last week’s Times re a picture of the old Pither’s Point pavilion, I recall my trying to find one while in the Fort in the summer of 2001 with my “boys” on our trip to the Historic Boundary Waterway.
We finally found one in the bar section at the Rendez-Vous. The picture is dated 1930 and is taken from the end of the old dock. It does show all the building, but at a distance.
My son, Bob, had a copy made by a shop on the south side of Scott Street in the 200 block. It came out very well, and he had an enlargement made and framed and gave it to me for that Christmas.
Sitting here at my computer, I can look up and see the beach and the crowds of people around that day.
You might call Vergil Stinson as she intended to obtain a copy from the print shop. I have many other pictures, but always showing only portions of the building.
I have booked into the Rendez-Vous from June 24 to July 2 for the centennial and find myself becoming more excited as the time draws closer.
