Overwhelming support

Dear sir:
To everyone who helped make the inaugural Rick Pearson Memorial golf tournament an overwhelming success.
I am sitting here with a picture of Rick smiling out at me and a beautiful painting by Greg Bird hanging above, given to us by Tracy and Dennis Roach, and I am compelled to write of our feelings.
In January, we found it very difficult to express in words how much it meant to us all your love and support, and here we are again to tell you thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
When we arrived at the golf club and saw all the smiling faces of our family and friends, the tables filled with prizes so generously donated, and the pledge sheets with all the donations to the Kidney Foundation and local dialysis unit, we were overwhelmed.
Again, the Legion members were there for Rick (“even closing for the day”), Jane Voutt and Anne Watson helping with the registrations, Patti Jo Reid handing out green ribbons and pamphlets on organ donor awareness and kidney disease, and Jim Hunter, president of the Northwestern Ontario Kidney Foundation, coming to support us.
By the way, Jim was chosen as Volunteer of the Year for Ontario and our Northwestern chapter was named Chapter of the Year. Fort Frances certainly has contributed to this.
We also would like to thank Nadine Johnson and our daughter, Sonja Bodnarchuk, whose vision and organization made the tournament the success it was.
We know Rick was there, with his big smile, very pleased and proud that this event was held in his honour for such a worthy cause of combating kidney disease and making life more comfortable for those receiving treatment.
Much love and thankfulness,
Ross, Mary Jane, Laurie,
Tom, Mia, Sonja, and families
