Dear sir:
Once every five years, the Fort Frances Bowling Club hosts the Sunset Country 5-Pin Bowling Aggregate Tournament, where six teams from each affiliated community compete for the coveted aggregate banner.
Even though the Fort Frances bowlers were defeated this year (let’s just say we were too busy hosting), the weekend was a success.
As you can imagine, listing everyone who volunteered their time to keep score or help with the social aspects of the weekend would take too long. You all know who you are, and you have my heart-felt thanks for the hours you gave. But a special few went above and beyond in their efforts to make the tournament one that won’t be soon forgotten and deserve to be mentioned by name–Shirley Jensson, Barb Marusyk, and Mike Freeman.
To those of you who put in seven hours of decorating on Friday? Good enough! Carmen, we’re going to miss your creativity next time. And to Bev, Terri, and Wanda, thanks for spending the weekend in the backroom at Plaza Lanes. Thank you, Kendra Ogden, for your artwork and Kathy M. at Arnie’s General Store for the slicing and dicing.
To the Stamarskis for providing transportation of the lottery drum and for the long hours of being Judge of Play. Great pickles Shirley (and Bert), and thanks to Terry W. for signing away his life on props.
This tournament is anticipated annually by those who participate and this year we are pleased to say that local support was overwhelming. To all the businesses who donated items, thank you very much.
Signed,
Kayne Shaw
