“Operation Christmas Child” thanks the people of Fort Frances and surrounding district for the success of its “Shoe Box” program. As a first-year project, I would have to say the response was overwhelming.
Fort Frances is known as a caring and giving community. And because so many took the time to care, your special gifts will bring smiles to the faces of many children in Third World countries who probably never received a Christmas gift before.
Special thanks to Beth Caldwell, whose initial article on the program in the Times started my phone ringing and the enthusiasm of so many to be part of “Operation Christmas Child.”
Also many thanks to Mary Calder and her staff at Mary’s Little Lambs for offering her store as a drop-off centre. And thanks to those who have offered to help me next year. We will be back!
Christmas blessings to everyone!
