Overwhelmed

Dear sir:
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of the kind and generous people who were involved in any way with the Dec. 28 fundraising tea given on our behalf.
First of all, we’d like to thank the La Place Rendez-Vous owners who donated the use of their wonderful facility and their staff, who so adeptly helped with setting up, cleaning up, and serving.
Thanks, of course, to all of the wonderful people from the “Community Chest” organization who came up with the idea, and who worked tirelessly organizing, promoting, baking, and serving.
We know that it was a very busy time of year for all of you, and we really appreciate all of the time you sacrificed to be there for us. We are so incredibly lucky in this area to have this group of caring individuals—so willing to work for the benefit of others.
Thanks to the people who worked at the door and made everyone feel so welcome with their warm smiles and their cheerful personalities, and to all of the great cooks in the community who dropped off their delicious array of dainties.
Last (but certainly not least!), many, many thanks to all of the kind people who made the trek through nasty weather to attend the tea and to the many who made such generous donations. Whoever you are, thanks!
To say that we are overwhelmed by the amount raised is an understatement! We will never forget the kindness bestowed upon us by all of you.
We feel so very blessed to live in this caring and giving area. The people of Fort Frances and the west end of the district have very big hearts, indeed! We are truly amazed by all of the donations, gifts, visits, phone calls, practical help, concern, hugs, prayers, and all of the inspiring stories of hope to which we’ve been recipients over the past couple of months.
Thank you so very much. We love you all!
Thank you to the Fort Frances Times for all your great coverage and for providing us this space to express our appreciation.
Sincerely,
Stephanie & Melinda Hawkins
