Overwhelmed again

Dear sir:
I am once again overwhelmed with the generosity of the wonderful folks in Fort Frances and Rainy River District who gave of their time, energy, and financial resources to help me out with my medical and personal expenses that will be incurred over the next few months.
On Valentine’s Day I, along with many others, were treated to a fundraiser/coffee house at the Little Beaver Ski Park in Fort Frances. I would like to thank all of the people involved in this, not only for the large sum of money that was raised to assist my daughter and me, but for providing an evening of fun which would be difficult to surpass!
The hospitality and the entertainment were second to none.
Thanks first and foremost to the host and hostess who came up with this fantastic idea, and then spent what must have been countless hours organizing this event and making sure everyone had the best time possible.
You guys are the greatest!
Thank you so very much to the owners of the Little Beaver Ski Park for donating the use of their facility. We are so fortunate to have a venue of this sort in the Fort Frances area. I can’t think of a better place to have hosted an event like this!
My favourite part of the evening, of course, was listening to the performances of the band and the many guest musicians and friends. Thank you so much all of you for donating your evening to entertaining all of us.
I am forever awestruck at the amount of talented people who live in this area!
Thanks to those local businesses and individuals who donated the great food. The fact it was eaten up so quickly is a tribute to the cooks! Thanks also to those busy men behind the bar who worked so hard all evening serving drinks.
Thank you to the many who donated lovely items for the “garage sale” event that evening and, of course, to the numerous other “background people” who helped set up, stayed late to clean up, and sold tickets to the event.
I’m sure it wouldn’t have been possible without the help from all of you.
Many thanks go out to those who travelled from near and far (some as far away as Dryden, Morson, and Winnipeg!) to attend the party and to show their support. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me.
I am indeed lucky to live in this area. The generous people in the Fort Frances-Rainy River district communities have done so much to help me—I really don’t know how I would have managed so far without all of you.
Thank you so very much for your support and love, which has and which will continue to sustain me through any difficult times ahead.
Thank you to the editor of this newspaper for once again allowing me the space to express my thanks.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Hawkins
