Dear sir:
Brockton (Walkerton) residents wish to extend our sincere appreciation for the generosity and compassion of the many individuals, municipalities, businesses, and community agencies across Ontario and Canada.
You have sustained our spirits over the past 31 weeks and contributed to our recovery.
The lifting of the boil water order on Dec. 5, 2000 represents the culmination of months of hard work rebuilding our water system. This undertaking included swabbing and disinfection programs, significant improvements to our water system, and the installation of a world-class water filtration facility.
Brockton is now poised to move progressively and confidently into the new millennium.
Our return to being one of the premier small towns in Ontario, being a location of choice in which to work, live, and raise a family, is our top priority in 2001. The residents of Brockton extend an open invitation for you and your family to visit and let us treat you to our hospitality.
Once again, many thanks to all of you for your support. On behalf of the residents of Brockton, I wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season, as well as a prosperous New Year.
Best wishes and God bless you.
Signed,
David Thomson
Mayor, Brockton
