About 25 years ago, my family took a trip through Fort Frances. We found the place dirty, the streets littered with trash, graffiti around, and a general untidiness about the place.
We were unable to obtain the services we needed and those who helped us were impolite. We promptly nicknamed the place the “armpit of Ontario.”
Last week, I once again visited your town. I was impressed by the lovely waterfront park area and the general neatness of the town. The people who served me were very polite and I enjoyed the few hours I spent there.
I would just like to say there must be many people in your town who have worked very hard to make this change. You have done a great job!
P.S. You’ve lost your nickname.
