Dear sir:
On behalf of the festival committee, I would like to thank all individuals, businesses, and organizations that helped make our 59th-annual Music and Drama Festival possible.
I would especially like to say thank you to the volunteers who helped run the sessions, acting as chairperson, adjudicator’s assistant and certificates, or door persons.
Many people have helped in this way for years and I hope that you will continue to do so.
The 1999 Festival was a success both in terms of competitors and financially. There are some very talented young people in our district and our festival is about the youngsters.
It would be wonderful for our competitors if they got more media coverage during festival times, especially the smaller ones. It creates a lot of good feelings for the children and their families.
Not all is good news. Several executive have chosen to resign at the conclusion of this year’s festival. We are losing committed, hard-working individuals and this could pose a problem in getting next year’s festival up and running–the 60th for our district.
If you have the knowledge, time, and commitment, please come out! New faces are needed at committee meetings and new hands are needed to help get the work done.
Most of all, I’d like to thank my family for the time and support they gave me to allow me to work with the festival this past year.
Thank you, once again, to all who helped with this year’s festival.
Sincerely,
John Jankiewicz
