Dear sir:
I mentioned to a friend that I attended the Friday, Jan. 8 public meeting on the “Y2K” problem at the Salvation Army Citadel. My friend asked me if I had been converted?
The session was not about religion but an information session on “Y2K” (which, by the way, stands for Year 2 Kilo, or Year 2000). It dealt with the possibilities that may impact all of us before, at, and after midnight of Dec. 31 of 1999.
Those of you who are computer literate and on the Internet may be more knowledgeable but if–like me–you are not, then attendance at the next meeting on Friday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Citadel may be beneficial.
Can you imagine the problems with weather like this had electrical power ceased on Jan. 1, with start-up uncertain here as well as in the rest of Canada and the U.S.?
Signed,
B.E. Seppala
