Dear sir:
This past weekend, March 20-22, Tom Thumb minor hockey held a tournament in Fort Frances. The Times Tigers won the “A runner-up.” We’re proud to come in second out of 14 teams.
The Tigers would like to thank the following people for their tremendous support during this tournament and throughout the year, including Mr. Walter Horban, “The Ice Man,” who flooded and reflooded the St. Michael’s School outdoor rink. This allowed many extra Tigers team practices throughout the season.
Thanks also to the Videon Channel 9, staff, and volunteers for televising all the final games on Sunday. To John Pierce and Gus Lindberg for their excellent commentating during the games. To all our fans and parents, who had the arena rockin.’
To our coaches, Greg Sigurdson, Trevor Scott, Brian Hebert, and Bob Dobransky–your encouragement and dedication made this team successful. And to our sponsor, the Fort Frances Times, you’ve been GRRREAT all year!!!
Our apologies to the Border Figure Skating Club for delaying your ice time. This shows how much Fort Frances needs extra ice surfaces.
We’ll be in Rainy River this Saturday, March 28 for a fun tournament. We’ll have fun–and be #1.
