Dear editor:
A big thank you to the board of directors, the ice show committee, and all those involved in the Border Skating Club’s “Canada Eh!”
It was a wonderful two hours of imaginative costumes, a well-decorated venue, and talent at all levels.
It’s difficult to really appreciate all the work that must go in to just two performances—to organizing all those little people (who forget most routines, preferring to stand and wave at proud parents and grandparents), to choreographing the performances, and to creating the beautiful clothing.
Then on to the Sunday evening “Tour de Fort” presentation of Barney Bentall at the Townshend Theatre. We are fortunate to live in a community that offers such diverse entertainment.
Both the afternoon skate and the evening of music showed to a packed audience. Barney expressed his sympathy to Fort Frances on the difficult economic struggle and said, “Culture is an industry in itself.”
Our community presently is enjoying nearly 75 years of the district music festival—entertainment by future potential “Tour de Fort” exceptional performers.
Culture? We have lots of that!
(Signed),
Sandra Brunetta
