Interesting stats

Dear editor:
The statistics quoted in the Times on Feb. 16 with regard to cellular
phones are most interesting.
For five years, people here in the district tried to convince Bell that cell phones were a good idea but they always said there would not be enough users.
It is interesting to see that with just a very “local” service so far (Fort Frances to Rainy River) that there already are 1,100 phones in use and Rainy River had 700 calls on the tower in the first few days.
I hope Bell now regrets giving up all this revenue to the new
municipal system. It is a service improvement that we needed for a
long time.
Signed,
Alan Tibbetts
