Hope blooms

Arlene Georgeson

Dear Mike:
With our annual “Daffodil Drive” completed for another year, I want to thank everyone who offers continued support for this fundraiser.
The local Beta Sigma Phi sorority volunteers to promote daffodil sales in Fort Frances with the hope that a cure for cancer can be found. Our members work in conjunction with the Canadian Cancer Society to enhance the lives of people living with cancer in our communities and their families.
Money raised goes to cancer research and patient services in Northwestern Ontario.
But we’re not done yet. As part of our activities this year, we also have paper daffodils for sale at several locations in Fort Frances that will add to our fresh flower donation total.
These flowers sell for $2 each, and are available at The Place, Northern Lights Credit Union, A&W, and Pharmasave.
If you were missed with our fresh daffodil sales, and still would like to participate in our locally-run fundraiser, please visit these businesses and purchase a daffodil in memory of a loved one lost to cancer or in honour of someone battling this disease.
Paper daffodils will be for sale until April 24 and your continued support is appreciated.
Congratulations also goes out to our workplace champions: Nancy Dittaro (AbitibiBowater Human Resources) and Chris Dittaro (Lakewood Tire).
They assisted our pre-sale orders at their place of business and won our two local basket draws this year.
A little flower goes a long way—and “hope blooms” with daffodils.
(Signed),
Arlene Georgeson
