Dear sir:
Re: “Communities In Bloom”
The Town of Fort Frances, acting on the request of a team set up by the local horticultural society, and with its financial support, joined the provincial branch of “Communities In Bloom.”
“Communities In Bloom” promotes involvement and action by citizens of all ages, the municipal government, and local businesses.
The program is to improve the visual appeal of our town by use of flowers, shrubs, and trees. We also focus on tidiness, heritage preservation, and environmental awareness.
You need not join any group to participate—just look out your front window and work on an area in which you take pride. Our neighbourhoods need to participate for all to benefit.
The committee also wants to hear from you on what needs to be done.
It meets regularly on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Civic Centre (committee room), and is targeting areas for improvement and fundraising. It also is planning a series of awards for beautification efforts.
New committee members are always welcome. Gardening gurus, people with experience with desktop publishing, and all interested in the future of our town are needed.
Remember our motto, “Let our Heritage be the root for our Community to Bloom into the Future.”
Yours truly,
Helen Crook, Chair
“Communities In Bloom”
