Heartfelt thanks

Dear editor:
The Friends of the Fort Frances Public Library held its second-annual “tag day” last Friday (Oct. 1) and it was a great success.
This year, our project is raising funds to purchase new shelving for the adult section of the library, which will be a better height for both patrons and the staff.
In total, $2,850 was raised Friday—$316 more than last year.
The weather on “tag day” began wet. But while the sun eventually did shine, a cold wind kept temperatures low. Yet volunteers stood for two hours outside the mill between 6-8 a.m., and then at various other locations around town until 6 p.m.
Altogether, a total of 65 volunteers were involved—many of these wonderful folks past retirement age and yet even volunteering to do extra shifts.
The support of local businesses, the generosity of our community, and the willingness of volunteers to help never fails to overwhelm and amaze me. You make Fort Frances a truly awesome place to live.
On behalf of the Friends of the Fort Frances Public Library, I say, with deep sincerity, thank you from the heart.
