Dear editor:
Hi, my name is Shannon Strachan and I provide child care in my home, and just recently started with a family with two great little boys.
This is just a small story about one of them that I think really will strike home with many of us.
One day while talking with the kids, I asked them, “So what do you guys want for Christmas this year?”
Well, I heard many different answers, of course, and then from this one little boy came the reply that caught me off-guard. He said, “I just want my happy family.”
It was not the answer I thought I’d hear for a four-year-old, but it really touched my heart and made me misty-eyed.
With all the hustle and running around worrying about what to get for whom, and where all the money is going to come from, I think if we all just look around us at our family and friends, we will realize how rich we really are.
Last but not least, and to give credit where credit is due, thanks Corbin.
