Is this our fate?
There is no denying it has been a desperate time for our Health Care Systems all across this country. Our systems are being stressed to the max while our amazing, front line, Health Care professionals are doing an amazing job of CARING for people- THEIR PATIENTS- in the face of daunting odds to save OUR Health Care Centres from collapse.
First the collapse of our Emergency Care in Emo, then the Ambulance Service also at Emo. Now the Clinic, Emergency and Doctor Service in Rainy River.
When we desperately need leadership Riverside fails us. Instead we get bafflegab.
Toxic Turmoil over the past years and a culture of fear of reprisals against employees has us now on the brink of collapse.
Last year, in honour of my late wife Norma Elliott, my estate donated $40,000 to Riverside Foundation towards the purchase of a new UltraSound for the Rainy River Health Centre. The balance was matched by donations from “Friends of Norma.”
Further, my estate had willed a significant portion of my estate to Riverside Foundation. That endowment intention was canceled in June 2024 to reflect my lack of confidence in the performance of the Riverside Board and Executive.
Riverside Executive/Board does not demonstrate leadership or competence, yet it expects support from the community.
I believe the Minister of Health should replace the Board and the CEO of Riverside Inc.
Desperate times, call for desperate measures!
