Dear sir:
On April 9, at our daily gathering around the octagonal table in the Royal Canadian Legion here, a question was brought forth: “What does one do with hazardous material?”
In this case, the person was referring to old paint and paint cans.
Alas, no one had an answer to this question. Being a fervent user of the “blue box,” I endeavoured to find an answer for our next gathering. Arriving home, I telephoned the Public Works office, only to find there is no hazard waste disposal in Fort Frances.
The answer I received was, if there is not much paint left in the can, put it with your garbage. Is this not an explosive situation?
Perhaps some of our knowledgeable members of the town council can give me some insight into this hazardous problem so that I may inform the members at a further gathering at the octagonal table.
Thank you,
R.M. Boland
