Jan Beazley
Dear editor:
Wherever I travel in Northwestern Ontario, people have a story to tell or an idea to share about health care.
Health-care providers, especially front-line workers, have many insightful suggestions about quality patient care. Patients and clients have stories about their experience at a hospital or with a doctor, public health, or a community support service organization.
These insights and experiences help people to see where the system is working and where it could be improved.
The North West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is collecting information for our second Integrated Health Services Plan, and needs to hear stories and ideas from both the providers’ and health-care users’ perspectives.
This important plan will map out our priorities and funding for the health care system in Northwestern Ontario for the next three years.
In order to hear from as many of you as possible, the North West LHIN has set up a special website to collect people’s stories and ideas across our region. The site is www.northwestlhin.on.ca/myvoice
Please visit soon as the site is only open until Feb. 28.
For those without Internet access, paper copies are available in hospitals, clinics, and other health-care buildings across the region or by calling the North West LHIN toll-free at 1-866-907-5446.
As a “thank you” for taking part, we are offering great prizes like a Wii Fit and several iPod Nanos. But you also should take part because your story or idea can make a big change in how health care is delivered in our region.
This is your chance to make yourself heard—and shape the future of health care here in Northwestern Ontario!
Sincerely,
Jan Beazley, Chair,
North West LHIN
