Happy owners

Dear Mr. Editor:
Much has been written and said about the RiverWalk Condominiums. Those who live here would like to put forward the owners’ perspective.
The suites are spacious, bright, and decorated with care to suit each owner’s taste. The view of the river is pleasant even on a cloudy day—and spectacular when the sun shines and dances on the waves.
At night, the moon and stars, as well as the lights of International Falls and Ranier, are reflected in the dark water.
Those who choose have access to Rainy Lake by boat, with a slip at the Crowe Avenue dock, just across the street. La Verendrye Parkway is a source of recreation for those who wish to join their neighbours as they stroll, jog, or ride along the pathways. The less energetic can always find a friendly wave from passers-by.
This year, residents here were treated to a ringside seat for the July 1 parade and the bass tournament’s parade of boats.
The question has been asked if the trucks going by are an annoyance. The building is so soundproof that little, or no, outside noise is heard if the windows and doors are closed. When they are open, the vehicles can be heard, but only for the few seconds it takes them to pass.
Where, in this or any town, do you not occasionally hear a loud radio or noisy engine?
As summer winds down, we are looking forward to the heated parkade and not having to scrape windshields or shiver in a slow warming car.
All in all, we are a group of friendly neighbours, all enjoying a pleasant lifestyle where we are thankful to not have to cut grass, shovel snow, carry out trash, or tend gardens unless we want to do so.
It would make us all very happy if others would choose to share our surroundings. We are gratified that two, and perhaps three, couples are in the process of buying units. These most recent buyers are all from outside Fort Frances and they make a total of at least six new municipal taxpayers to move into the condo.
That can only be good for Fort Frances!
We owners are proud of our new homes, and would welcome a visit or phone call from anyone interested in hearing more of the facts.
