Grossly misinformed

Dear sir:
I am writing this letter in regards to the effluent spill on Eighth Street just west of Walker Avenue on Aug. 9, which drained into the backyards of nine residences.
Gary Rogozinski is the spokesperson for Abitibi-Consolidated. He has informed us that the effluent has no chemicals in it but the MoE is testing for these four chemicals–phenol, toluene, chloroform, and AOX.
Rogozinski feels that this is harmless and it’s okay for our children and pets to play in our backyards.
When residents contacted their own insurance companies, they were told they had no property coverage because of contamination.
We feel that we have been grossly neglected and misinformed by the Town of Fort Frances, Abitibi-Consolidated, and Moncrief Const.
As spokesperson for the residents of Walker Avenue, I would like to hear from other residents who have been affected by this tragedy.
Guy Johnston and the
Walker Ave. residents
P.S. Would any one like to buy some contaminated property or garden vegetables? We were told that they are perfectly fine to eat!
