God’s grace

Mike Andrusco

The word Grace is defined as a gift, benefit, favour, gracious, liberality and the divine influence upon the heart and its reflection in our lifestyle. The grace of God is a free gift. We can’t earn it by good behaviour or good works. Romans 11:6 “and if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.” If we are to enjoy the benefits of God’s abundant grace, then each one of us must decide in our hearts what we are going to believe. Do we believe what the world and society says is right or wrong or do we take the time to read the word of God and see what He has to say. Just believing and acknowledging that there is a God is not enough to insure our eternal destiny. James 2:19 “you believe that there is one God, good, even the demons believe that and shudder.” Romans 3:22-24, “This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Our Father God loves every single one of us with a father’s heart and desires only the very best for us. As parents, fathers and mothers, we love our children but we don’t always love what they do. Our heavenly father feels the same way when we are disobedient to His word. God is not a big white haired “sugar daddy” in the sky who will forgive any and all sin just because we believe He exists. If we consider ourselves to be Christians, then it is our responsibility and ours alone to determine which path we will follow. The world and society, or our Heavenly Father’s. God’s grace is not a free ticket to live the way we believe is right or wrong because each one of us has a different concept of right or wrong and leads to discord and confusion. The Bible is our source of consistent truth when read with an open mind and heart. Do not take God’s grace lightly because it is by His grace He has provided the path to salvation. (Romans 10:9-10). To all who will believe, may you receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness, reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17).
