Dear sir:
Do you really think that if the “blue box” day coincided with garbage day it would make a difference in the amount of “blue boxes” out there? Puuleeze, get real!
The reason hardly anyone in Fort Frances is recycling is because there is next to nothing that is allowed in our present recycle system!
It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that people just can’t be bothered. It always has bothered me, and will continue to do so, that I must throw away most of the materials that I know can be recycled.
How about looking at a new program instead of making the statement that the “blue box” program is costing time-and-a-half to have the person pick up the boxes on holidays?
Of course, money is an issue. I do not dispute this fact. Still, it will be really sad to have to look at our children and our children’s children in the eyes and explain to them that the reason this earth—and this town—is getting more and more polluted is because our town was just too lazy and just could not be bothered to look at viable ways to recycle our waste products.
You know that people do care a lot about this issue and are very willing to do their part in recycling, so why not make this a top priority with our new council?
Thank you, once again, for allowing me to express my views.
(Signed),
Carla Kibiuk
