Dear sir:
As a follow-up to our letter of last week commending the young people for their support, we would now like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the community.
Because of your generous support, we have surpassed our goal and raised $10,275 in this area, which includes Fort Frances, Alberton, and Couchiching.
This will help the Kidney Foundation meet its commitment to medical research, and also guarantee the ability to continue programs in patient service, organ donor awareness, and public education.
Research funded by the Kidney Foundation has resulted in major advances in dialysis treatment, development of more powerful anti-rejection drugs, and non-surgical method of treatment of specific kidney stone problems.
We gratefully acknowledge the major role played by the zone captains, the canvassers, the service clubs, and all of you who welcomed the volunteers to your door.
On behalf of the thousands of Canadians with kidney disease, on dialysis, waiting for a transplant, or who have had a transplant, thank you for your support.
Please sign organ donor cards, discuss it with your family, and sign the petition supporting a hemo-dialysis unit in Fort Frances.
