Dear sir:
I have found $300 million–given away of education taxes! Gratuities!
Some 10,000 retiring (baby-boomer) teachers, plus board employees, given tips of 230 “unused sick days” at about 50 percent ($30,000). Since they proved ineligible for “sick pay” because they were paid wages, they were paid in full!
Gifts are a “freewill offering” and the teachers’ federation is resorting to “Mafia tactics” and is guilty of extortion of us taxpayers! What’s next? Unused bereavement leave, unused jury duty, or unused pregnancy leave?
This is not common sense!
This “massive cut” by teachers slices directly from the classroom, and has a crippling effect on the students’ ability to have provisions for learning! But 100,000 teachers are “no match” for five million voting taxpayers!
Mike Harris and Lynn Beyak will “put a stop” to the money-grabbing teachers’ federation! The naive teachers that firmly believe that “burdened taxpayers” owe them a retiring “tip” are still trying to sell us their “swampland!”
Phone Andrew Hallikas (274-5201) or Gordie McBride (274-9501) for how this extortion is fair. You, as one of the five million that pay the $300 million, can withhold your share of $60 as a “tax cut” and protest! Nobody can make you give a gift!
This way, you will see a tax cut promised by Mike Harris!
Stand firm and don’t be swayed by Howard Hampton or Frank Miclash! They have been giving our money to their $60,000 a year rich teacher friends! No more! It is our money, and just how could we direct it for better needs?
Over the next 10 years, teachers will extort $3 billion “in tips” if we don’t stand up to their federations!
Signed,
Melvin Haukaas
Burdened taxpayer
