Dear sir:
Oct. 17-23, 2004 is Canadian Foster Family Week. This week is dedicated to honouring the difficult and rewarding job that 38 families in Rainy River District do.
They are committed to caring for children who cannot remain in their own families due to abuse and neglect. Some of these children are in foster care for short periods of time while others remain in foster care for the long-term.
Foster parents have a difficult job to do in that they care for our children and are committed to ensuring their needs are met.
The foster parents in our district are committed to this high level of care, and work as team members in ensuring the children’s best interests are met.
I would like to thank the dedicated foster parents and their families who give of themselves and their time to serve their community and share what they have with children in need.
These individuals are special and valued people who deserve recognition and thanks for the job they do.
Family and Children’s Services of the District of Rainy River commends our foster families and recognizes the invaluable role they play in providing services to our community.
Sincerely,
Shanna Weir
